House, guests, & houseguests

This weekends rain pushed back plans on our dream garden. We've hired a landscape designer to help out with the planning (I'm actually itching to do the physical labor) and its nearing ideal planting time for this part of the country.

Family arrives this week, but sadly only for a few short days. We also had family in last week, and it went by too fast (could it be we also love all of the trusted babysitting?)

Having a larger, better equipped home to welcome family into is surprisingly ... satisfying.

This house has many lessons yet to teach me, Daniel-sohn.

Look ma, I made these! Alls by myself. I feel accomplished today. (I also organized the garage, tools, cleaned kitchen, laundry, hung art, organized/paid all bills, finished taxes & ...almost opened the paint can to get cracking on the breakfast nook).

3rd anniversary!

We recently celebrated our 3rd anniversary. In short, best date night since weve been married. Marriage really does get better with age, especially as friendship has a chance to grow. This year, we summitted so many biggies- little Lady's birth, house purchase AND renovation. There's no one I'd rather do this with more.

Highlights?

- I survived heels for the 1st time since pregnancy (hey, its a big deal for me)
-fords filling station is fabulous on a date (Harrison ford's son! Fun, right?)
- talked out some 1,5 & 10 year goals (they're awesome)
- culver hotel is even more fabulous. Farrah, why did I miss your party there?
- evening live jazz is the best dessert to a fine meal (if chicken & dumplings I might add) & ran into some single friends - who were on a blind date! How romantic! (both are very cute)
- they film Touch at culver hotel
- we want to steal the farmhouse tables from Culver hotel's restaurant
-Hugo really is that good. See it & feel good (but husband had me at 'Paris') I wanted to reach into the screen and hug every character at the end.
